Senior Commercial Accountant

On behalf of a construction firm in West Dublin, we are looking to hire a Senior Commercial Accountant.

Our client is a market leader in innovative technologies and is expanding their finance team with this new hire. The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Finance, across multiple construction projects;

Responsibilities:

Project Budget Management:

• Collaborate with the Commercial and Accounts teams to establish project budgets, upload them to the ERP system, and track financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Monitor ongoing project performance, reporting any variances against the approved budget, and providing regular updates to key stakeholders.

Cost Reconciliation:

• Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to reconcile Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports with original project budgets, ensuring accuracy and consistency across financial and commercial reporting.

Profitability Tracking:

• Continuously review project budgets with the QS team to ensure CVR reporting aligns with expected contract profitability and financial recognition.

Requirements:

• ACA/ ACCA qualified Accountant with 3-5 years’ PQE.
• Construction industry experience (or similar) highly desirable.
• Commercial finance (budgeting, forecasting, modelling) experience highly desirable but our client will also consider (Senior) Accountants looking to move into a move commercial role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with internal & external stakeholders.
