Project Development Manager

03 June 2026

We’re looking for an experienced Project Development Manager to join a forward-thinking renewable energy team developing utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across Ireland and beyond.

About the Role

In this position, you’ll take ownership of projects through all stages of development — from site feasibility to “ready-to-build” and beyond. You’ll work within agile, cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-evolving energy environment, helping shape the future of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the development of solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects from inception to construction readiness.

  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility analyses, and resource evaluations.

  • Secure land rights through negotiations with landowners and agents.

  • Prepare planning applications, coordinate environmental assessments, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with grid specialists to secure and maintain grid connection offers.

  • Lead community engagement activities and represent projects at local meetings and exhibitions.

  • Manage consultants, contractors, and technical advisors to keep projects on schedule and on budget.

  • Track key deliverables, mitigate risks, and maintain accurate and accessible project documentation.

  • Provide technical input to financial models and project investment cases.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, preferably in solar PV or BESS.

  • Proven ability to deliver across the full project lifecycle — feasibility, planning, and pre-construction.

  • Strong technical understanding and commercial awareness.

  • Confident communicator and coordinator across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with GIS tools, planning processes, and energy system fundamentals (grid, substation, SCADA).

  • Self-motivated and adaptable in fast-paced, evolving environments.
